For that winning smile

10 Jul

Your smile depends on the simple tasks like brushing and flossing your teeth regularly. Oral health begins with clean teeth, so try to follow these tips:
Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Do not rush when you brush your teeth. Take enough time and do a thorough job.
Use a fluoride tooth paste and soft-bristled toothbrush. If you arthritis or other problems that make it difficult to brush effectively, try to use an electric or battery operated toothbrush.
The toothbrush should be held in a slight angle against your teeth and brush with short back-and-forth motions. Brush the inside and chewing surfaces of the teeth, and also your tongue. Avoid vigorous or hard scrubbing which may irritate your gums.
Change your toothbrush every three to four months or if the bristles become frayed.
Flossing tips
Break off about 18 inches of dental floss. Wind most of the floss around the middle finger on one hand, and the rest around the middle finger on the other hand – leaving about one inch to floss your first tooth.
Use your thumb and forefingers to gently pull the floss from the gumline to the top of the tooth to scrape off plaque. Rub the floss against all sides of the tooth. Unwind to fresh floss as you progress to the next tooth.
