Fatigue

12 May

fatigueFatigue is one of the most common complaints of people. If your fatigue is not due to an underlying illness or drug side-effects, lifestyle changes can make a difference.
Complex carbohydrates such as whole-grain foods, as well as fruits and vegetables, provide lasting energy because they take a long time to digest.
Eating small meals throughout the day helps in stabilising your blood sugar levels, preventing the lows that make some people tired. Try eating five meals a day instead of the usual three. Snack on fresh fruits or vegetables, when you feel low, for there is a misconception that sugary foods can elevate your mood.
Make fitness a habit. Exercise increases the amount of oxygen rich blood reaching your brain and muscles, and increases the number of blood cells in the body. It helps in getting better sleep.
Always get prescribed drugs, over-the-counter antihistamines may cause fatigue.
Stay connected with family or friends. Avoid isolation, which can lead to boredom and depression, both of which can cause fatigue. Join a club or community Association, or become a volunteer.
Smoking lowers the oxygen level in your blood, so it is better to quit smoking.
Energize with ginseng, consider taking ginseng which has been shown to help fight fatigue.
